Didn't get free postage like others have though, and I'm in the UK.

I still struggle to understand why Folio doesn't make more widespread use of single-use promo codes or other measures to prevent their wonton circulation. Not that I'm complaining from a customer point of view! But it seems like a modest technical challenge to have these promos that are targeted at specific groups be individualised and single-use.

Not sure if it is due to COVID-19 restrictions, but India is not listed in any of the exclusions under the non-EU Standard/ Express Delivery lists. I continue to receive a steady supply of books from the local post office.

Not sure how exactly the prices correspond to the UK site (where I am), but on the UK site Around the World in Eighty Days is £39.95, so might be worth taking the AU$ price for that book as a guide for the minimum spend in Australia.

Edit: Or it's possible there may be different codes for the different currency regions I suppose, so the same code may be valid in the UK and ROW as both regions use GBP, but Australia, Canada and the US may vary?

Why it was in sterling I don't know. I didn't order anything. I already own close to 600 Folio books, and I've been buying some I wanted on the secondary market rather than the new stuff.

Thank you for this. Managed to order the fourth Hitchhiker's Guide book, only one more to get. Shame that they've pretty much doubled in price in a few years.

It worked today after failing to yesterday. I picked up Dynasty, now all I have to do is hope for more Holland books, although nobody ever mentions his other works besides Dominion.

The code didn’t work for me, bug I just ordered them emailed FS and asked them to apply the code to my order and they did.

It's working for me (Germany). But it doesn't really feel sensible to be purchasing Crooked House for £48 considering the added tax and £25 shipping, since it still feels too much. I will just wait till my next order (possibly at the time of the next sale). In that way, I will not be paying double for shipping. Happy (and a little envious) for the people in the UK, who essentially get a book at a huge rebate.

Having recently enjoyed Folio's edition of The ABC Murders (received in one of their mystery parcels some time back), I went for a bit more Christie: Roger Ackroyd.

A year ago I never would have thought to try a book like this but reading a few Slightly Foxed books has really sparked an interest in reading more memoirs. This looks like a nice production too - bound in cloth with loads of the author’s own drawings.

I like the Slightly Foxed books, they’re a great portable size for travel. But, when a small book isn’t required, I do find the text margins slightly uncomfortably small for general use at home. I’m just being picky, really. The magazine is truly superb.

When you completed the FS survey did they ask you what books or genres you would be interested in? It seems like that would be crucial info for them to gather too!

I have used the code to order The Haunting of Hill House (SE, of course).

For anyone for whom the code doesn't work, I think this may be if you've already used your own birthday code since this code became valid in September 2021. The code doesn't work for me but I already used my birthday code in December and I'm fairly certain it was the exact same code. I think the birthday codes are one-time use only, per account.

If anyone hasn't used their birthday code since September and is still having trouble applying this one, you may need to check that you're logged into your account before applying the code in the basket.

Useful for the Man in the High Castle (RRP £49.95), or either Rubicon or Dynasty (RRP £59.95) purchased directly from the Folio Society when the current secondary market prices for both are absurd. Having recently received SPQR from FS, I can commend its production qualities as a fine edition (the copious spread of illustrations, cloth binding and cloth-bound slipcase are all magnificent) for anyone looking for an excuse to use the voucher :)

I don't understand why on earth this birthday voucher thing isn't working for everyone who input their birthday. I always got mine, but keep hearing about this issue on here.

I'm glad to report they fixed the problem at last! They have been very responsive through all this, to their credit.

Folio's website says there are still 72 copies left and I'd be surprised to see that many go in the next few days.

For perspective: Strange & Norrell has been selling fast and there are 159 copies left and it's a 'First printing' whereas Japanese Tales is a reprinted title.

I don't suppose there are any codes active at the moment from the Autumn/Christmas collections? I was holding out for them before the latest rise in prices, so I'm even more reluctant to place an order without one now!

I received one for the first time ever this year, and I'm thinking it's because it's the first time I haven't actively been buying FS. The last book I bought was The Book Thief a couple months ago and I received a voucher, whereas when I bought FS books pretty consistently I never got one.

No birthday voucher so far, but for some reason they did send me a Christmas card this year ! 😂

I've never received a birthday voucher, but mine is in the summer after the big sale and well before the autumn release, so the timing never quite works out despite the 30 day window.

I was really hoping for a pre Christmas free shipping promo, but that isn’t coming. And sorry but I just realised that ROW now has to pay more than the UK; for how long has it been like this? £90 for a Night to remember, plus £32 for shipping, because I can only use express shipping, is getting a bit much I dare say.
Hopefully there will be some promo in the future or voucher code or something, otherwise, I will need to abstain for a good long while.

Very strange. The £10 off voucher I got emailed last week for my upcoming birthday (which is today) has been supplanted today by second email, now at £15 off instead.

Both my emails - the original and the reminder - said £10 but in the event the code discounted £15 so they must have recently decided to increase it and that applied retrospectively.
