Hai there, say Friend and enter (of is that a fantasy group ;) ), may I enter this probably awesome science fiction group? Live long and prosper and take care, stay away of the nasty bugs (can't help but think about apparently somebody forgot to drink some of the old milk in the freezer after an intergalactic travel which caused him to not exterminate this bloody bug without ever knowing it was there, but I digress). - Oops already a member apparently, love to join again!

Welcome sixfeetunderguy. Kind of hard to read that way, but whatever keeps your heart beating, I guess. I should say 'welcome back', as I see you were a member previously.

I read them and I'm not even a new member. I were a *good* member I'd chime in with a "yes, welcome!"
56Mark_Harbinger
>54 Karlstar: Of course. And it's always a pleasure to meet a fellow SRD fan. :-)
57Karlstar
>55 ChrisRiesbeck: Thanks for reading!
>56 Mark_Harbinger: This is where I'm supposed to pretend I know what SRD is - Samuel R. Delaney? Stephen R. Donaldson? Let's go with Donaldson, that seems more likely considering what's in my library here on LT.

I'm new- JanEPat, author of a futuristic book, "Riddles Island," set in 2111. The main "science" in it is creating a vision of the future based on environmental and social trends today; and the use of geneering -- genetic engineering and clean portable nuclear power.
The Ridlets residents of Riddles Island are all non-binary. Fresh water is an issue in 2111. The characters grapple with typical problems of the ages -- love, lust, health and getting along in a community.
It's cross-genre and 50 e-copies are AVAILABLE AS A FREE GIVEAWAY on Library Thing until Dec. 30.
Take a journey into the future and escape the holiday madness.
Ridlets do celebrate Krisminimus -- a way to escape the darkest days of the year with feasting, partying and fun.
If you like 1984, The Giver, Handmaid's Tale and the visionary work of Octavia Butler, "Riddles Island" by Jan E. Pat might be right up your alley.

Hi there all. I feel like a time traveler a time traveler. I was once a lover of sci-fi and for many years read little else. I stopped some time when my children were young and don’t know why I didn’t return to this wonderful genre. But I’m back, and look forward to finding out what’s been going on this century!
My SF reading - recent and remembered can be seen HERE. I haven’t catalogued all my past SF on LT, but have been adding as I remember them.
