The man was a GoH at the local convention that I've been involved in running at various levels over the years (Capclave 2022) and, at the time, we had our fingers crossed that we could get Eric and Peter S. Beagle through one of the first "live" conventions since the emergence of COVID safe and sound.
He will be missed, if only because he's become the backbone of a brisk cottage industry of getting starting authors their first published work.
