This is a Swedish embroidery project I started in 1985. After 35+ years I’ve finally picked it up again. Sleeping Scottie for attention.
As soon as it’s finished I intend to teach myself Viking knitting so I’m sure I’ll be back asking for advice.

>1 varielle: That will be a lovely piece. How are your eyes after 35+ years?!
Looking forward to the Viking knitting.

Oh, that looks really nice! I've done a little bit of Swedish weaving and I'd love to do more.
(I haven't had any projects in progress last 35 years yet though, I think my record is only 27. Congratulations!)

Welcome to the group, Phyllis!
I like the embroidery you’ve picked back up - I’m not immediately familiar with the pattern. Does it have a name other than “Swedish”?
I’m also planning to do some nåkbindning in the future (I’m assuming that’s what you mean by “Viking knitting”) so it’ll be nice to see what you come up with.

>1 varielle: I remember doing the "Huck weaving" which I've also seen referred to as Swedish weaving back in the 1980s. I enjoyed it.

>6 PawsforThought: Yes, nalbinding. I believe the pattern I’m working on was called either pine or spruce trees. 🌲
