Dean Street Press & the loss of its founder

I don't know if anyone heard, i learned through a blog called Furrowed Middlebrow (a favorite of mine) the death of Rupert Heath, the founder of a publishing company called Dean Street Press.

They specialized in republishing vintage forgotten works, like golden age mysteries & british womens works, like out of print D.E. Stevenson novels. Rupert collaborated with Scott from the blog mentioned above, and together they created the Furrowed Middlebrow series, which were/are publications of out of print women writers of 1900s-1960s or so.

Of course this is terribly sad for all of his family & friends, but I have to wonder what this will mean for DSP or FM.

I can only hope another founder will pick things up when they feel ready & the publishing company won't close. It was so nice to see another publishing company care about forgotten books as much as me.

If I had enough energy & money I would love to help.

Just saw this and am saddened to hear it. Dean St very much live in the same niche as the defunct greyladies press and I've got to read a bunch of mid-century cosy reads - wonderful when you want distraction but dont have bandwidth for angst -- via them.

Shout out for Rhododendron Pie in case you haven't tried that one yet.
