Highly recommend the recent release The Stronghold, a translation of Buzzati's The Tartar Steppe. The latest Dorothy release, The New Animals, is my next read after I finish my current fiction title.

>1 Shadekeep: Thanks for the notification. Just bought half of my wishlist. Unfortunately, Stronghold is not in stock. I'll have to wait for next time.

They recently had a 40% off sale like 3 weeks ago if you buy 4 or more. May be better to wait a few more months for the sale will certainly happen again.
A Story of my Life by Paustovsky is a must. Its 800 pages but an amazing book and I can't wait for the second volume (books 4, 5 and 6). According to the introduction he should have won the Nobel and didn't because of politics which is why Pasternak won who had stronger ties to the Stalinist party and the nobel committee wanted to appease Stalin.

3: Well, that does not sound right. Stalin died in 1953, Pasternak won the prize in 1958 (and the communist party sure was not happy about this), whereas Paustovsky is known to have been nominated for the 1965 prize which, however, ended up being awarded to Mikhail Sholokhov.

>5 GardenOfForkingPaths: What movie version of Inverted World is there? It's a great novel, but I've not seen a film of it. Though apparently one of a similar theme exists.
In a Lonely Place is both a great book and movie, excellent choice there.
Curious that The Continuous Katherine Mortenhoe isn't part of the sale, as it was made into the rather good arthouse film Death Watch.

>6 Shadekeep: Good question. I can't think of one and Google doesn't yield anything obvious either. Strange!
