2023 was a bit of a disappointing year, reading-wise, for me. It ended up being the year with the fewest books read (by 1) since I started tracking 10 years ago. Hopefully I'll do better this year. I already have one book finished:
1) Terra Incognita by Mati Ocha
This is a LitRPG that the author describes as a concurrent prequel to his Transcendent Green series. It takes place concurrently with the first volume of the series, but features new characters and is set in a different part of the UK. it's a fun, though short read that ties in with events in the second volume of the main series.

Thanks everybody.
2) Silent Key by Laurel Hightower
I picked this up after horror author Brian Keene recommended it in his newsletter a few weeks back, and wow. It's all about a former NYC police detective who moves to her recently deceased uncle's home in a small Texas town. She had to leave NYC after her husband died mysteriously, it was revealed he'd been cheating, and her daughter started having disturbing ghostly encounters. It turns out that Texas isn't much of an escape as her uncle's home seems to actually be the center of the weird events. This was a really great book, and I highly recommend it.

3) Things Left Behind by Brian Keene and Mary SanGiovanni
For the past few years I've mostly been reading ebooks, but I keep buying paper books, which has led to my TBR pile backing up badly. I decided to make my 2024 New Years resolution to be to read more paper books, and this is the first one I finished.
This is a short story collection by two of my favorite horror writers. I've already read most of the stories in it, but even so, it's a really good collection.

4) Jake's Magical Market 2: A Trek Through time by J.R. Matthews
This book is one of the rare instances where the second book in a series is better than the first. The first book wasn't bad, but it felt like three books shoved into one volume with not enough time dedicated to each. This one doesn't have that problem. This book starts where the last one left off, with Jake being trapped in the distant past, in another reality, with the powers of a god (but not a particularly strong one). The book follows from there with him fighting other gods, learning to use his powers, and trying to get home. My only complaint is that Jake is really, really stupid.

5) Attack of the Killer Tomatoes by Jeff Strand
This is the long awaited novelization of the 1978 cult classic horror comedy Attack of the Killer Tomatoes. This book is every bit as silly and weird as you'd expect a novelization of that movie to be. Strand does make some changes to the plot which might annoy hard core fans, but I liked it.

6) Aetheric InFusion by Jonathan Brooks
This is the latest book in the Magical Fusion series. This book sees the main character and his friends being forced to flee their previous magic school and make their way to a new one. They never actually get there as the book is all about their journey to itand in fact the MC will likely never get there as the book ends with him being teleported to a distant land.

7) Grilled Armageddon by Dakota Krout
so, Dakota Krout has decided to start yet another new LitRPG series, which makes something like 5 ongoing series. It's not great, but is better than the Year of the Sword series he abandoned partway through a few years back. This is just really unoriginal. It's an apocalyptic LitRPG (seen dozens). It starts with the main character dying and unexpectedly getting a do-over (been done better). In his new try at the apocalypse, he gets a cooking class (this is rarer, but has been done better by the Japanese). After that it's a bunch of lame puns and stupid pop culture references (like in all of Krout's books). Even though I didn't really like this, I'll probably inflict the next book on myself too.
8) Portal Mage Hiru by Dexter May
Here's another not very good LitPRG. I mostly picked this up because the the premise was that the main character was raised by wolves. Unfortunately, this is unimportant to the plot as the MC goes from Mowgli knock off to generic country bumpkin pretty quickly. It also doesn't help that the book seems to have been written for small children, but didn't say so anywhere on its amazon page.

11) The Primal Hunter 8 by Zogarth
This is a decent enough continuation of the series.
12) A Summoner Awakens 2: Ascension by Kerberos

This volume is mostly about the protagonist hunting down a cursed sword that's causing a plague. It's OK.
14) The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiyabt Nagaru Tanigawa
Another book that's been sitting on my shelf for a while. This is a fun light novel where the protagonist finds that the world has changed and all of his closest friends are suddenly very different.

15) Dead Tired II by RavensDagger
This is the second volume of a series about a lich from a LitRPG world who wakes up after a few millennia to find that his world has been taken over by cultivation fantasy. This volume introduces a couple of new characters in the form of giant preying mantis sisters called Rem and Mem. Mem is awesome.
16) Empyrean's Flight by Tom Elliot and Amelia Winter
This is the sequel to the book Empyrean's Rise that I read in 2022. It's decent enough, but could use better editing, and would be improved if the main character wasn't both headstrong and kind of dumb.

>16 Owltherian: I'm doing fine thanks. I keep forgetting to look at my list here or update it, which is why it's taken so long to reply.
18) Chrysalis 5: Enemy A(n)t the Gates by RinoZ
This is the latest volume of a LitRPG about a guy who got reincarnated as an ant monster. This volume is all about defending the ant colony from simultaneous assaults by a group of angry rock people and a self righteous legion of humans. I tend to think that the fighting is usually the most boring part of these sorts of books, and this book is mostly fighting. It's not the best in the series, but it's still OK.
19) Sewer Skewers by Dakota Krout
This is the second volume in this series, and much like the first one, I didn't think it was that great. Frankly, I think Krout's writing would be vastly improved if he's lay off all of the bad puns and unfunny jokes. He's just really not very good at humor.
20) Bedtime Stories for the Sick & Twisted by Joe Ortlieb
This is a book of horror short stories that (I think) was written by a guy I was friends with way back in elementary school. It definitely tends toward the ultra gory side of horror, though the one with the little girl and the unicorn fighting zombies was cute (and gory). Overall, it's a good book, though as with so many small press and self published books, it really would have benefited from some copy editing.

21) The Magidex Academy: Nova Era by Alix Roche
This is a book that I downloaded after seeing it advertised on Reddit, and I thought it looked interesting. Unfortunately, it turned out to be fairly mediocre.
It's essentially a magic school story with a bit of Pokemon flavor tossed in. Only the school setting never gets explored enough to be interesting, and the book's version of Pokemon are really boring.
22) Power (Wormhole Mana Book 1) by Tom Larcombe
This is volume one of an apocalyptic LitRPG series by an author who wrote one series I liked and another I abandoned after two volumes because I couldn't stand the characters. I'm a bit on the fence with this one. I didn't dislike any of the characters, but the story just felt a bit boring to me. I'll probably give volume 2 a shot whenever it comes out.
23) Please Don't Tap on the Glass and Other Tales of the Melancholy and Grotesque by Mike Lombardo
A new bookstore specializing in horror, science fiction, and fantasy just opened up in my town, and this was one of my purchases on opening day. I've been meaning to get a copy for a while. This is a horror short story collection by a local indie filmmaker. I really enjoyed it. He's a really good writer.

24) Primeval Apocalypse 3 by Robert s. Keene & Alex Raizman
This is the 3rd volume of an apocalyptic LitRPG series with lots of dinosaurs. This one though, is mostly about stopping an evil monkey necromancer from using his zombie army to destroy humanity.
25) Mythica: Revenant by Dean Henegar
This is the start of a new LitRPG series by one of my favorite authors in the genre. This one is a series set in the world of the Mythica movies, which I've never seen and had never previously heard of, but are apparently direct to video fantasy B-movies of dubious enough quality to star Kevin Sorbo. This book series is about a woman who is returned to life as an undead by one of the gods of death so she can stop some evil threat. It's pretty good.
26) Plague of Gulls by Stephen Gregory
This is a horror novel I picked up after one of the authors I follow on social media recommended it while it was on sale. The cover blurb for it compares it to The Birds, but other than the fact that both stories feature people being killed by birds, there's not a lot in common. For one thing, only three people die in this, and none of them are pecked to death by flocks of angry birds. This is about a young man who loses a finger on his 18th birthday, and soon ends up taking care of a young seagull that slowly develops into a sinister creature along the lines of Poe's The Raven. It's pretty good.

I was kind of surprised by this one, because instead of just being a bunch of random chapters, it actually contains a complete story arc. This is all about Zac in the Perennial Vastness to form his Cultivator's Core.
28) A Late-Start Tamer's Laid-Back Life: Volume 9 by Yuu Tanaka

29) A Scion's Duty by Tom Elliot
This is the latest volume of The Grand Game. It's a LitRPG that I enjoy despite the fact that the author couldn't be bothered to learn anything about wolves despite the fact that they feature heavily in it. For several books he's constantly been having wolves be lead by "alphas" and now he's decided that they attack with their claws.
30) Swords in the Shadows ed. by Cullen Bunn
This is an anthology that I backed on Kickstarter last year and finally got around to reading. It's a sword and Sorcery/horror anthology, and I really enjoyed it. It definitely felt more like classic Sword and Sorcery than most of the stuff that gets that label today does.

31) 31908033::World Seal by David North
This is the latest volume of Guardian of Aster Fall. It's OK.
32) 31908031::All the Skills 3 by Honour Rae
This book has the MC get kidnapped, but the kidnappers aren't bad people, so he helps them a bit until he robs them and then he helps them again when they get attacked.
33) Operation Yukatan by William Meikle
This is the latest S-Squad book. This time, the squad is in the Yukatan, where they fight chupacabras for some reason. I have no idea why creatures first sighted in Puerto Rico (which is the version the story uses, not the mangy coyote version sighted in the US southwest) and mostly seen in the US southwest are doing there, but whatever. I enjoyed it.
34) Shrubley, the Monster Adventurer by James T. Callum and K.H. Sohmer
So, Callum and Sohmer have started yet another new LitRPG series which makes 5 ongoing series for Callum (or 6 if he continues the Brookmoors Magi which has vanished from Amazon so Ican't read it). This is a really cute story about a monster shrub who decides he wants to be a hero.
35) Haunted Attractions with Your Other Father by Norman Prentiss
I really loved Odd Adventures with Your Other Father, but somehow I missed that Prentiss published a sequel to it two years ago. I don't think this is quite as good as the first, but is still a fun collection of horror stories about a gay couple taking a cross-country trip and running into weird stuff.
36) Reincarnated as a Sword 13 by Yuu Tanaka
Despite this being one of my favorite series, I somehow missed this, too. This book has the sapient sword Teacher and his cat girl wielder Fran returning to Demon Wolf's Garden, where the series began, so Teacher can get repaired and the pair can get some training in. It's a fun series.

I backed this on Kickstarter. It is, as the title suggests, a collection of comic strips that the creator of Bone drew for his college newspaper, many of which serve as a prototype for what would eventually become Bone. These though tend to be more (1980s style) political and have a lot more weird gag strips. It's still pretty good.

Wow, I haven't updated in a month. Let's see if I can remember everything I read:
41) Countdown by Sean Oswald
The second volume of a LitRPG series following one of five humans who have been chosen to take part in a game to preserve humanity before Earth turns into an RPG. It's fun though the ending, where it's revealed that the Muslim player is a religious fanatic who is running a global terrorist organization, is really cringey and kind of racist. Despite that I'm currently reading book 3.
42) Omelete Endgame by Dakota Krout
Not as bad as the first two volumes of the series, and thankfully the final one.
43) Jake's Magical Market 3: Home Sweet Home by J.R. Mathews
The End of another short LitRPG series. This one was actually pretty fun.
44) 2 Lies. 2 Thrones by Eric Ugland
The latest volume of a not at all short LitRPG series (this is 11 with no end in sight). This is a kind of boring side quest about the MC trying to prove that he didn't punch a princess.
45) Reincarnated for An Apocalypse Store Book 2: Hostile Takeover by cooperzenkarn
Another LitRPG. This one wasn't as good as the first volume, since the mc went psycho partway through for no discernible reason.
46) Leveling Up the World 7 by L. Eclaire
Yet another LitRPG. This volume has the mc go on a hunt for the phoenix because of politics. It's kind of depressing.

48) Reincarnated as a Sword, Vol. 14 by Yuu Tanaka
This is the start of a school arc. I liked it.
49) Scanlines by Todd Keisling
This is a horror novella loosely inspired by the real-life on-air suicide of politician Bedd Dwyer, and seems to draw inspiration from Ring as well. Definitely creepy and disturbing.
50) The Complete John the Baladeer, Volume 1 by Manly Wade Wellman
This is the first volume of the very long awaited 2 volume omnibus set of John the Balladeer short stories and novels. I absolutelty love the short stories. The novels aren't quite as good, but are still very enjoyable.
51) The Big Book of conspiracies by Doug Moench
I got this on sale cheap at my local comics store. It's interesting.
52) A Compendium of Lesser-Known Cryptids by Seldom Valley Cryptid Society
This was a bit of a disappointment of a kickstarter book. For starters, it's really cheap looking. The content is a bit mixed too. It's a collection of brief entries of made-up cryptids. I'm not sure what definition of cryptid thy were using but it's not the dictionary definition of "an animal (such as Sasquatch or the Loch Ness Monster) that has been claimed to exist but never proven to exist" or the more slangy definition I see that seems to be something along the lines of "scary monster in the woods." Some of the entries are human, some are supernatural beings, and some aren't in any way scary. In fact quite a few are really boring, due to one of the Kickstarter tiers being a "make your pet a cryptid," which leads to multiple stupid entries about cats with magical abilities to get people to give them food.
53) Collapse by Sean Oswald
This is the latest Welcome to the Multiverse book. It's not a great series, but I'll keep reading it.
54) Bonded by Brendan Lamerton
This is a cultivation fantasy where the main character gains the ability to cultivate after bonding with a fox spirit.
55) Cranberry Cove by Hailey Piper
This is a good horror novel with a trans main character that's set in a haunted hotel.
56) Heretical Fishing by Haylock Jobson
This is a fun isekai style slice of life LitRPG/cultivation sort of thing.
57) The Primal Hunter 9 by zogarth
The latest primal hunter sees Jake reaching c grade.
58) Mythica 2: Reforged by Dean Henegar
Not much to say here, but I do like the series.
59) The Primeval Apocalypse 4 by Robert S. Keene
This one dragged a bit.
60) Terra Nova by Mati Ocha
This is the second volume of the side series of the LitRPG The Transcendent Green. I really love these series.
61) By the Grace of the Gods: Volume 14 by Roy
This was ok, but no new slimes as far as I can recall.
62) Tales of Three Hemispheres by Lord Dunsany
I don't know why I decided to read this. Dunsany's short stories are always good though.
63) Reincarnated as an Apple: This Forbidden Fruit Is Forever Unblemished! Volume 1 by Gato
This was a remarkably silly isekai fantasy about a guy getting reincarnated as an apple that has super powers.
64) A Late-Start Tamer’s Laid-Back Life: Volume 10 by Yuu Tanaka
I love this series.
65) Mother of Learning ARC 3 by nobody103
This was pretty good.

I really have to get back in the habit of updating this as I finish books. Let's see if I can remember everything I've read in the last month and a half:
66) Theft of Decks by Lars Machmuller
This is a story set in a world where people get power by gaining magic cards. The flow of cards is controlled by the Forces of Light, who are pretty racist. Overall, I thought it was slow to get going, and once the MC managed to get a card, he got ridiculously strong to quickly.
67) Heretical Fishing 2 by Haylock Jobson
I didn't like this quite as much as the first, but it was still good.
68) Department of Dungeon Studies 1 by J Pal
This is about a disinherited prince who has to pay his own way through an expensive magic school. It's pretty good.
69) Shrubley, the Monster Adventurer 2 by James T. Callum & K.H. Sohmer
This is a fun series.
70) The Reverent Creed by Mati Ocha
volume 4 of a fun, Scottish LitRPG.
71) Defiance of the Fall 13 by TheFirstDefier
It's a;ways hard to think if anything to say about volume 13 of a series, and the fact that I probably read this a month ago doesn't help.
72) Dead Sea by Tim Curran
This was a really cool horror novel about a ship that gets sucked into another world that's completely shrouded in fog and full of strange monsters.
73) Martial TransFusion by Jonathan Brooks
This was OK
74) Deathseed by Sarah Lin
The latest Weirkey Chronicles book. I enjoyed it.
75) The Knight by Will Wight
The lates volume of The Last Horizon space fantasy seriesd about the crew of a magic spaceship. This one focuses on Raion Raithe, the ships knight, who is essentially a super strong, alien Power Ranger. Great fun.
76) Bad to the Throne by Eric Ugland
The latest volume of The Good Guys, which finally wraps up the latest story arc.
77) Terra Infinita by Mati Ocha
This is the third and final volume of the Transcendent Green side series.
78) Voidknight Ascension 3 by James T. Callum & K.H. Sohmer
Fun litrpg
79) Emperor's End by Kyle Kirrin
This is the latest (and maybe last) volume of the Ripple System LitRPG series.

thanks all.
Once again, I've managed to put off updating for over a month and have lots of updates. In no particular order, here's what I've read:
80) Snuggling the Grotesque by Jeff Strand
This is a collection of comedy horror short stories. Strand is always good at this stuff, and I really enjoyed the collection.
81) The Donut Legion by Joe R. Lansdale
This was a fun mystery where a writer is approached by what may or may not be the ghost of his ex-wife and is asked to solve her murder. This leads to him getting involved with an alien-worshipping cult. Good stuff.
82) An Enigma in Silver by Simon Hayenes
This is the second volume of a gaslamp fantasy series. This time, it's werewolves.
83) Confluence of Fates by TJ Reynolds
This is the second volume of a cultivation fantasy series. When this popped up in my Amazon recommendations, it had been so long since the first volume came out that I almost forgot I'd read it. It's OK.
84) He who fights with monsters 11 by shirtaloon
This was okay, I guess.
85) Department of Dungeon Studies 2 by J Pal
Not bad, but getting rid of most of the protagonist's friends and allies in the second book of the series was a bit much.
86) Tower of Blight by James T. Callum
The most recent book in the Beastborne Chronicles. I think it was a weaker entry, but still not bad.
87) Welcome to the Multiverse, book 4: Resistence by Sean Oswald
I've been on the fence about this series for the last few books, and I think this is where I abandon it.
88) Accidental Champion by Todd Herzman
This is a new apocalyptic LitRPG series about a guy choosing a class called champion, and despite having no real skills, he somehow becomes super tough. It's fairly standard stuff, but still interesting.
89) Remember Bowling Green: The Adventures of Frederick Douglass - Time Traveler by David Niall Wilson and Patricia Macomber
This is a bit of political satire from 2017 that I read because that Wilson gave away some free copies of social media. It features analogues of Donald Trump and members of his administration trying to take over Bowling Green while a time-traveling Frederick Douglass and various locals attempt to stop him.
90) The Primal Hunter 10 by zogarth
This is the start of a new arc in with the mc and his team of strong people (mostly from earth) are taking part in a competition that involves running a giant dungeon.
91) All the Skills - Book 4 by Honour Rae
This takes an interesting turn, with clues dropped that the story is actually set in a post-apocalyptic version of our world where magic has become real.
92) Proliferation by Tom Larcombe
This is volume 2 of a LitRPG in which scientists have opened a portal to another world, mana started pouring through, and an AI super computer used it to start making the world work like an RPG. Other than all the stuff with the horny grannies, the book is pretty good.
93) Death Spiral by Mati Ocha
This is the start of a new series set in the universe of the author's The Transcendent Green series. Unfortunately, due to real world problems, what was supposed to be a novel ended up being just a novella, which leads to it feeling a little lacking. It's still good, though.
94) Ink Mage by J. Pal
This was the second and final volume of a deck building LitRPG series called Tower of Cards. Unfortunately, volume one didn't sell that well, so the author nearly abandoned it, but instead decided to wrap the whole thing up in this volume. Consequently, it feels very rushed.
95) Reign by Dean Henegar
This is the final volume of a LitRPG series called Mythica set in the world of the B-movie film franchise of the same name. I thought the ending kind of sucked.
96) So You Want to Live the Slow Life? A Guide to Life in the Beastly Wilds, Vol. 4 by Fuurou
This one is mostly about the wedding of the protagonist and the chipmunk girl he loves.
97) Ancient Debts by Tom Elliot
This was Ok.

>32 PaulCranswick: hello to you too. I do seem to be doing pretty well reading-wise, though I really need to remember to update more often.
98) Destroy All Humans. they Can't Be Regenerated, Vol. 1 by Katsura Ise and art by Takuma Yokota
This is a romance manga about a couple of high school students falling in love and playing Magic: the Gathering.
99) Library System Reset: Overdue by K. T. Hanna
This is an Isekai type LitRPG about a college student who gets chosen to be the new Librarian for a universe spanning magical library that's been offline for 500 years. It's not very good, mostly because the main character is too whiny, stupid, and generally annoying to be even remotely likable.
100) Museum Core by Jacob H Greif
This is an apocalyptic dungeon core novel about a guy who ends up becoming a dungeon core in the ruins of the British Natural History Museum. It's nothing special, but was fun.
101) The Castle at the End of the World
102) The Invasion at the End of the World by Justin Marks
These are volumes 2 & 3 of an apocalyptic LitRPG series I started ;ast year, or maybe the year before.
103) Quest Academy: Saviors by Brian J. Nordon
This is volume 3 of a sort of superhero/magic school litRPG.
104) Card Mage: Tournament Topdecker by Benedict Patrick
This is volume 2 of a card based progression fantasy series.
105) Accidental Champion 2 by Todd Herzman
The continuation of yet another LitRPG.
106) A Late-Start Tamer’s Laid-Back Life: Volume 11 by Yuu Tanaka
This is a LitRPG series I genuinely love.
107) The War of Flesh and Steel by Tracy Gregory
The 7th volume of my favorite card based LitRPG wraps up the story line from the previous volume, which is all about Australian dwarves fighting fantasy Borg in the outback.
108) Demon Card Enforcer by John Stovall
This is a new card based LitRPG set in an alternate version of America and featuring gangsters. It's pretty cool.
109) Master of Puppets by Eric Ugland
This is a new LitRPG series from the author of The Good Guys and The Bad Guys series. This one kind of sucked. The humor fell flat for me, and the MC cane across as a moron despite the fact that he was supposed to be a super smart Federal agent.
110) When Wizards Follow Fools by Andrew Rowe
This is the latest volume of the fairly popular Arcane Ascension progression fantasy series. I thought it was pretty good.
111) Silver Stars by David North
The latest in the Guardian of Aster Fall.
112) Chrysalis 6: Antvance into the Unknown by RinoZ
The lates book in the ant based LitRPG series, Chrysalis
113) To Catch a Falling Leaf by J. P. Valentine
The 2nd volume of a sci-fi-ish cultivation fantasy.
114) Pandora Unchained by Patrick Laplante
A new cultivation fantasy by the author of Painting the Mists.
115) Leveling Up The World: 8 by L. Eclaire

116) Reincarnated as a Sword Vol. 15 by Yuu Tanaka

117) Proving Grounds by Tom Elliot
A new LitRPG in which a group of alien gorillas send all of humanity to the Proving Grounds, so they can be trained in magic and ultimately be used in some intergalactic war.
118) The Primal Hunter 11 by Zogarth
Mostly about challenge dungeons
119) Leveling Up the World 9 by L. Eclaire
A magical school arc begins and ends
120) Demon Card Enforcer 2 by John Stovall
Modern day gangsters engaging in magical card battles is fun
121) Corruption Wielder
122) Corruption Wielder 2 by Aaron Shih
Another mediocre apocalyptic LitRPG series where the hero is the specialest boy who gets the super strong cheat power. I may continue the series.
123) Unexpected Healer
124) Unprepared Healer
125 Undisguised Healer by Jonathan Brooks
Another LitRPG series where humanity is sent off to gain strength by mysterious forces. In this one, the protagonist is a healer who somehow still manages to defeat dungeons all on his own.
126) Reborn: Apocalypse (Volume 4) by L. M. Kerr
I apparently read vols. 1-3 three years ago, and somehow missed volume 4 coming out last year. I wonder if there will be a 5.
127) Apocalypse Greg by Andrew O'Kelley & Wolfe Locke
A rather mediocre combination of Apocalyptic LitRPG and zombie apocalypse.
128) The Kingdom at the End of the World by Justin Marks
This is (I believe) the end of the At the End of the World LitRPG series. It wasn't bad.
129) The Gorgon Incident and Other Stories: A Mage Errant Anthology by John Bierce
I'm really looking forward to the author's next series.

133) Little Shop of Horrors by Howard Ashman
They randomly had a copy of the book version of the musical at my local bookshop, and I got it. I've never seen the play preformed, so I was a bit surprised at how much darker it is than the movie adaptation.
134) Batman & Dracula: Red Rain by Doug Moench
I read the first sequel to this years ago and finally read the original. good stuff.

135) Press Start by Eric Ugland
The first volume of a new series set in the world of The Good Guys and The Bad Guys finally comes to Kindle after a its 2 year or so exclusivity deal with some site called Yonder finally expired. It's about a pair of ghost hunters who get isekaied and become real monster hunters. It's way better than Ugland's stupid puppet book, but the characters are kind of annoying. I still enjoyed it.
136) The Hedge Wizard 5 by Alex Maher
This book ramped the story up, but I thought it also dragged a bit.
137) Unaffiliated Healer by Jonathan Brooks
This was Ok. Looks like it's setting things up to go the totally originalthe mysterious forces that told us we needed to be heroes are actually the bad guys, and other mysterious force they said were bad guys are actually the good guys route.
138) Batman: Scarecrow Tales
This is a collection of random Batman stories featuring the Scarecrow that I got cheap at my local comics shop. It's OK.

139) A Misanthrope Teaches a Class for Demi-Humans, Vol. 1 by Natsume Kurusu
I really like this one. It's a light novel where a guy who hates humanity (after getting back-stabbed by a student at his previous school) gets a job teaching at a school where it turns out all of the students are only half humans who really want to become fully human. It's super cute.
140) Defiance of the Fall 14 by TheFirstDefier
I thought this was a fairly weak entry in the series.
141) Syl: Nucleus by Lunadea
This was a fun LitRPG about a person who gets reincarnated as a slime and eventually ends up becoming an adventurer while masquerading as an elf. Surprisingly, it's not a ripoff of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime.
142) Dryard Dungeon by John Stoval
This is a LitRPG about a half elf who becomes a dungeon lord. It's similar to the author's City of Masks series, but way hornier and with worse characters. It also features characters from Elf Empire by the same author, which I DNFed, but might give a second chance.
