Graham's reading log 2024

Hi, I hope I'm doing this right! My name is Graham, I'm 27, and I'm trying to get my reading groove back. I'm one of those "used to read a book a week as a kid and now reads maybe five a year" types. I'm not really sure what a realistic reading goal for the year is, but I've arbitrarily set it at 25. I figure if I overshoot it I can always edit my countdown widget, lol.

My first order of business is to finish the books I'm currently reading. I am a chronic starter and non-finisher of books. I'm currently borrowing The Girl Who Fell Beneath the Sea (more than half finished) and Dune Messiah (barely started) from friends, so those are at the top of the list to get finished and returned. I've been listening to and adoring the audiobook of Piranesi and will probably finish that quite soon. Other books in progress include Queen of the Damned, Gideon the Ninth, She Who Became the Sun, and American Psycho.

Well, shoot. I changed my username and forgot to sign out and back in before I posted this, so it's showing up under my old username. This seems to mean I can't edit/delete it. Would it be a total nuisance if I reposted it as a new topic with the proper username?

Welcome to the group, Graham. You can't do anything wrong as far as we are concerned. We just want you to enjoy your reading experience. I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one that reads multiple books at one time. I received notice that you had joined the group from LibraryThing, under both names. It doesn't matter to Andrew (the other admin), or me which username you use, as long as it works for you.

Yes, enjoying the alliteration of "bananagraham."

And this is a great group for going through all those unread, started-and-never-finished books and getting them reviewed, catalogued, and just generally sharing then with other like-minded book lovers.
