I am new to this. As I get older I seem to read nonfiction a lot more, like I "missed out"
on this when I was younger. I like memoirs. I found Ed Begley Jr's "To the Temple of Tranquility, and Step on it" amusing.
Anyone out there reading a good nonfiction/memoir?

Welcome to the group! I prefer nonfiction too, and probably 70-80% of my reads are non-fiction. I've just finished Olive, Mabel & Me which was a great way to spend a few hours.

Welcome
I, too, enjoy NF. Have been reading it since childhood. My love for it increases as I age. One of my first NF books was a scholastic book fair purchase in the first grade on atoms etc. My first biography purchase was on George Washington in second grade. Had read other stuff, though, lying around the house. Unduly fascinated with encyclopaedias.

>2 Jackie_K: I generally prefer fiction but I got hit by a BB for Olive, Mabel & Me, possibly by you. (Sorry, I'm dreadful at making a note of who fired the BBs at me; I go straight to Overdrive/ Libby and start exploring my libraries when I see something interesting; unfortunately I don't always manage to find it or it takes some browsing - and then there are rabbit holes.)

I would say that I prefer fiction more, but I am reading more and more NF as I get older. Just looking at my 2024 reading so far, almost 1/3 has been NF, which is a lot more than I thought it would be!

I really do prefer fiction and seldom read non-fiction. I have one book on the go for months Zijn we slim genoeg om te weten hoe slim dieren zijn by Frans de Waal. I think I have read only 40 pages.
