sharing your library with permalink

Hello:
When I share my library using the permalink at the bottom of the 'Your books' tab, my friends can only see 30 books even though there are many more than this. I don't have any filters on.....

Search results maybe? If you had just searched your library for, say, “bead” and those results are what’s showing when you generate the link, that’s what your friends will see, e.g., https://www.librarything.com/catalog/EAC-ACB_Library?&deepsearch=bead

>1 EAC-ACB_Library: I can see 136 by visiting your profile. Stupid question, but just in case, are they using 'next page' to see the rest? Depending on yur settings, it shows a certain number per page, 200 being the highest IIRC

Can you share the exact link you give to people? That may help diagnose the issue.

The information that is on the public server is usually a little slower to update than the information that people who are logged in to the site can see, so if the books were only added to your library today, and your friends aren't logged in users, that could explain what is going on.

The link is this and there should show 134 books. I plan to add a few thousand more so want to be sure people can see it before sharing! https://www.librarything.com/catalog.php?view=EAC-ACB_Library&shelf=list&amp...

>3 SandraArdnas: Oh this is so odd, when my husband and daughter look (I tried again just now with them) they only see 30. at the top of the page it says 1-30 of 30...

>2 Charon07: I made sure there was not a filter on and the search results are clear but still today my friends can only see a listing of 30 books. It says at the top of the page 1-30 of 30 and there is no page 2 or 3 etc.

That's odd. I see 136 entries

When I use the link, the page I arrive at shows "1 - 50 of 136," which appears to use my own setting of 50 books per catalog page. 30 is the default, if memory serves?

And I see twenty when I view the page, and 20 is my default.

I also see 136 books in the library.

When logged out, I see 30 books. But I'm also using a different browser. Chrome - logged out - I see 30 books.
Firefox when logged in, I see 136 books.

Suspect there's a server glitch somewhere that the facing server hasn't caught up to the logged in servers.

Hello community,

I was directed to this thread, because the link that I share with non-account holders doesn't seem to show them the 5 books I've scanned and uploaded - they see an error message - "no books found in this collection". Based on this thread, maybe better for me to try again in a few days and see if the server has synced everything?

Does anyone have a suggestion for another app that makes sharing lists of books easier (where I can also use an in-app barcode scanner to upload books)

thank you.

I've looked on the profile for both of the posters here, when logged out, and the book totals do now match what we see as logged-in users. So I think whatever the server delay was, has now cleared and hopefully sharing our links will work again. :-)

The site has been unusually disrupted this week.

(Edited this post to take out a bit that wasn't needed now the servers seem okay again)

Indeed! The developers have had to scramble resources repelling, recovering from, and repairing the consequences of a major spam attack. Some asynchrony among servers is hardly surprising.

>12 paradoxosalpha: Thanks about the default info, I had not realized that! I'll figure out how to increase to 50
