wrong author?

I was looking at Kim Harrison books, and I found a few that seem not to belong. One is The Discipling Cycle (Understanding and Knowing God). Kim Harrison seems to be added as the main (not primary) author, but google books says this is by Andy Harrison and Andy Kim? Maybe where the confusion came in? Also, I wonder about Currents of the Brazos: An Illustrated History of Brazos Electric Power Cooperative, Inc., 1941-1991 which does seem to be by "a" Kim Harrison, is there a good way to tell if it is the same one? Just wondering if there any resources folks know about to look any of this information up. If not, well...c'est la vie.

Library of Congress knows three Kim Harrisons and a few Kimberleys as well.

When I'm trying to figure out multiple authors with the same name, I usually start with the Library of Congress Authorities database at https://authorities.loc.gov/ . Basically, a "Name Authority Search" (last name first!) will give you a list of known authors by that name, often including middle names, often including birth and death dates, sometimes including education and places worked. What it will not give you is a complete list of works, but you usually get 1-3 titles, which may be enough detail for more fruitful web searching.

It also gives a whole bunch of structured metadata meant for library catalogs; don't be intimidated and scan past it. You'll also get some "undifferentiated" records and some "Don't use this one, See that one" records, and some with pretty low information. But it's more than we started with...

>1 al.vick:

Understanding and Knowing God is by Andy Harrison and Kim Harrison.

I have separated the Kim Harrison and Dawn Cook pages, split the Harrison page, and aliased Harrison(1) to the Dawn Cook page.

Thanks for all your work everyone. I am not versed in the aliasing stuff!

I will make Velveteen Rabbits on Fire the right Kim Harrison.
