I like the sound of "Out in the Wild" can I have that for May? Thanks.
6lowelibrary
I will do our annual Stephen King and family again in September.

>3 mstrust: I'll put you in for February unless someone else really wants that month. If they do (and no one has taken March, I can switch you).
8LibraryCin
>5 PhantomG: Welcome!

I’d like to do Diverse Perspectives. You can put me down for January, but the month doesn’t matter to me & I can switch if anyone wants or needs to.

>7 LibraryCin: 👍Thanks!

I have a few favourite topics myself. One has already been taken, and I already hosted two of them this year, so I don't know if I want to host the same ones next year. And I know I've done the other one before, too. Hmmmm...
For now, I'll wait to see what others want to do before I decide and grab a month myself.
In all honesty, I think we might not have as many participants in this one, so we might open up to people doing more than one month, again.
ETA: On looking back, maybe it was only three of us who did two months each.

I'm new to the category challenge, so I don't feel comfortable hosting a month, but I would love to see a female authors month if anyone needs more ideas!

>13 GraceCollection: It's really easy to host a month. All you do is post the new thread on or around the 15th of the preceding month, describe the topic, and give a few suggestions. I encourage you to host! It's a great way to participate in the group, and I'd definitely enjoy that topic.
Thanks, LibraryCin, for getting the planning going. I'm also going to wait and see what topics are chosen but I will probably be willing to host at least one month.

>13 GraceCollection: You could choose the do the topic toward the end of the year, so you can watch what the rest of us do to set up each month/topic, if you'd like.
Let me know and I can add you, if you do decide. (But, let me know, anyway, as if you don't want to host the topic yourself, I'll add it to the list of possibilities.)

16LibraryCin
>14 sturlington: Sounds good. Just let me know when you decide!
17LibraryCin
>12 Tess_W: You are added!
18LibraryCin
Ok, I'm going to plunk myself down for "Real-life Monsters (True Crime)". I honestly don't recall if the "Real life monsters" was referring to true crime, but it sounds like it, so I'm going to say they are the same, cross them both off the topic list and host that one in... March.
19GraceCollection
>14 sturlington: I think I'll sit it out this time, but thank you for explaining!
21DeltaQueen50
If you want people to take more than one month I would take December with "Your Favorite Scary Trope".
22LibraryCin
>20 mstrust: I'm not sure. I think this year, only three people needed to do two months (if I counted that correctly). As it stands now, we only have six; if no one else steps forward, we'd need everyone else to do another month!
Did you want to sign up for a 2nd month? I think go ahead if you'd like to.

Since we can’t convince >13 GraceCollection: to host, I’ll do female authors in August.

>23 mstrust: >24 Charon07: Thank you both!

27LibraryCin
>26 DeltaQueen50: I did miss that one. Thank you for bringing it to my attention!
ETA: It looks like we posted at almost the same time, so I bet when I loaded the page, it wasn't there, but when I posted, it was just before mine. Anyway, adding you in now!

I'll likely do another, but I'm trying to decide which one. I think I'll add myself in for November.
30LibraryCin
>29 Tess_W: Thanks, Tess!

One of my other favourites (and I did host it this year, as well, I believe), is psychological thrillers. I've taken November. I also noticed that "Psychological mysteries and thrillers" is the MysteryKIT in November.
So, I'm debating about plunking that one into November for us, and it will make it easy for people to do both with one book!
OR, do I choose the other one I really would like to do (serial killers), since we can do psychological thrillers for the MysteryKIT?
Does anyone have a preference on which one they'd prefer?

>31 LibraryCin: Or you could mix them together and have a month of psychological thrillers and/or serial killers.
34mnleona
>32 mstrust: and >33 DeltaQueen50: These would be a no for me but a yes for others.
35LibraryCin
LOL! Maybe I'll stick with Psychological thrillers. That will make it easy for people to do both challenges, since it's the same month, even.
36LibraryCin
So, we just need one more for July.
37lowelibrary
I will finish the calendar and take July as a second month. The topic will be Ghosts
39LibraryCin
I see that some of the other wikis are already set up. I do know how to do that and will do it, but it may not happen for another week or so. Weekends are usually when I have more time, but I will be away next weekend (for my "younger" brother's 50th birthday!).

I finally took a few minutes to set up the wiki. It's here:
https://wiki.librarything.com/index.php/2025_ScaredyKIT
I will also add this to >2 LibraryCin: and let the creator of this group know so the link can also be added to the description of the group.
