Link to change cover missing and other errors

When I click on one of my books, I can still edit it or see the details of the book or the work. But the link to change the book cover is missing. I noticed other small annoying stuff is missing. For instance, when trying to combine different names of a single author, the items on the search page for those other names is missing the buttons / links to actually perform the combination.

Please tell us is this on mobile or computer?
Operating system and browser?

Also information about the work(s) and author(s) involved would be useful. Had the book been in your catalogue for some time, or just entered?

On the Portuguese (Portugal) version above, I can still load the covers page but it doesn't exist in the left-hand menu of page options.



On the English (US) version, I have the usual book page options in the left-hand menu.

For developers, Bug Part 1:
1. log into my kristi_test_pt account on .com

3. Compare the left-hand book page menu (with "Edit your book", etc.) on both English (US) and Portuguese (Portugal) versions.

Bug Part 1: The Portuguese version is missing some menu items.

NB: I compared with some other non-English versions like Italian, Albanian, etc. and didn't notice the same bug. I'm not sure how many other languages might be affected, but I'll work on checking them.

Bug: The "(combine)" links are missing next to the author names.

Ah. The translated strings are empty for that translation. We shouldn't be using empty strings within the translation mechanism.

conceptDawg has fixed this in the sense that the text is now showing (albeit untranslated, but not missing). Let us know if you see any other issues!

This is mostly fixed now.
I'm showing the untranslated text now if it has an empty translated string.
This may create other issues, so we'll discuss this internally and see if this solution is enough.

Hi! Thanks! The missing stuff is now available (in English). However, the link/button to contribute translations is missing. Weirdly enough, translations available for a long time (such as "Author") went missing (empty strings, I gather, that is why they were not shown) and are now shown in English.
