I've just got my first volume of "The Annual Register : a view of the history, politics and literature of the year ...", for 1798.
I see from the Wikipedia article that between about 1792 and 1824 (the paragraph is a bit confusing) there were two competing editions, published by Messrs Otridge and Messrs Rivington, the purchasers respectively of the remaining stock and the responsibility for future volumes. Does anybody know which is the "better" edition, or of any published work comparing them?
