Most of the time when I acquire a book I simply add it to a monthly thread in the group What Did YOU Buy Today?
But a book I added to the June 2024 thread, with a working touchstone, doesn't show up in the mentions for that book (The Story Collector by Evie Woods). And that's my go-to tool for not rebuying a book.
Any idea why that went wrong? And what are the chances that's a single instance issue?
Thanks!
ETA: Ironically, THIS mention DOES show up.

I tried another touchstone in that topic, and it also works, but does not show on the work conversations page.
The Maid and the Crocodile
It now says there are 3 mentions, but only this one shows up.

>1 ReneeMarie: Thanks for the report. Would you mind linking me to the exact thread you referenced, so I can take a closer look?
ETA, found it https://www.librarything.com/topic/361176.
Can you try editing your post: removing the Touchstone and re-adding it, to see if that does the trick? You might want to try saving the post without the Touchstone first, then adding it back on another edit. Let me know what you find.

>2 MarthaJeanne: Interesting, I'm seeing all 3 conversations at https://www.librarything.com/work/31809980/conversations - can you double check, now?

I see only mine, although that could have something to do with having ignored the group.

>5 MarthaJeanne: Possibly, they're under FantasyFans and What did YOU buy today?
Checked and yes, you're right, that's it. I wonder if we should still show them on certain specific pages like that, to make the numbers make sense (so you know it's not a bug)...thoughts?

I have certainly ignored both groups. I'm not sure leaving them out on the conversations page is a good idea.

>5 MarthaJeanne: >6 kristilabrie: It's been that way for years.
If you've ignored the group, the thread doesn't show. I have books that have 20+ mentions, but since most are in the 75 Book challenge groups, I don't see many of the mentions.

>3 kristilabrie: Sorry, I posted and then went radio silent while at work.
When I removed the brackets, saved, edited to add it back in, selected the correct touchstone, and then saved again, it showed up.
Whatever that means for why it happened.
(And, of course, I have certainly not ignored the group, so that doesn't explain it for my case.)
Thanks.

>10 ReneeMarie: Okay, great! My only thought is that the initial save didn't go through (obviously), for some reason. Let's consider it a fluke, or intermittent at best, but please reopen this if it creeps back.
>8 gilroy: Okay! Thanks for the historical knowledge. It seems most members will expect that discrepancy, then, for ignored Groups.
