This is a lovely little book, in my favorite vein of Aickman style ambiguity.
The pulls for the illustrations are flawless work and the marbling is gorgeous and appropriate.

I love this book! Got my copy two years plus two days ago. Great story, superb production. Thanks for this comprehensive review. It's popped up a few times in the past, but has never been as thoroughly covered as here.

>1 wcarter: There was another Alpenhouse Apparition: The Four Strengths of Shadow by Ron Weighell. The whole of that edition, bound and unbound, less a copy or two for myself, is in the hands of a private book dealer in Maryland. If I remember correctly his name is John Knott: https://www.jwkbooks.com/advSearchResults.php?action=search&orderBy=relevanc...
