Looking for a book from my father's childhood who is notoriously difficult to buy presents for. Below is his description of a book from his childhood that he treasured but doesn't remember the title.
"Children's picture book from the late 1960s involving a stick and the imagination of a boy using that stick. Book of the month club offering sometime likely between 67 and 71."
Uses of the stick that he remembers:
"One of them was a baton he was a leader of a marching band. Another was a rifle I think he might have been Daniel Boone and like hunting game."
"The book would likely have been published in the late 60s or maybe early 70s"
