Looking for the author of this book. The cover had a girl ice skating on a frozen pond and I think the pond was in her backyard and she met an older man there.
I feel like the word Joy is in there somewhere.

Author also writes another book where a caretaker goes to take care of a man dying from cancer I believe and finds out it’s her former high school sweetheart and I believe she kinda helps him with assisted s*icide. They are older like in their 50’s when they reconnect.
