Trying to remember the author and books!
Book 1) runaway outcast who has flashbacks of life when she lived with a man who seemed to have picked her up from prostituting, split between how she got into that life and where she is now
Book 2) young boy who I think was a baker gets drafted to vietnam and returns home to and unwelcoming country so he turns to go live in the bush.
