The book starts with a bounty hunter type person in a dug out on another planet (humans are all over the galaxy(ies) now). He has been in the dug out, keeping extremley still for a number of days. He does small exercises (basically tensing and untensing muscles) to keep from getting stiff.
He comments on the fact that it must be a Tuesday and he doesn't like Tuesdays, he calls them something like stop gap days. And Sundays are the day for doing everything you should have done Saturday.
Once the job is done (I think he shot someone) he goes over to his car (which has been adapted for space flight). And calls in to say the job's done.
At somepoint he then gets teamed up with an android. It is said that when this android was first switched on it did absolutley nothing for a while and then after a while it got up and killed all the scientists.
The rest of the book is them chasing the antagonist, who is on a motorbike and has a pet rat. The antagonist maybe be called Pilot and I think he is a demon of sorts.
I remember little bits like the android ripping the seat out of the main character's car so he can fit in. And that when the antagonist killed someone (or multiple someone's) and spaceship arrives and takes home some of the dead.
