sunflower pillow 2024
Welcome to my 2025 thread! I’m Betty and I live in Rhode Island. I’ve made a bunch of plans for this year’s quilting but I’m not sure how many I’ll accomplish.
My big plan for this year is to finish the Christmas quilts I started in 2023 so I have 16 quilts for my great-nieces/nephews at Christmas. Although I didn’t finish in 2024, I made significant progress. I only have one completely finished but I have a bunch of tops done that just need quilting and binding, and a few that I’ve picked out fabric and/or cut it out. I had two completely finished but decided to give one to a friend who is going through some stuff, so I’ll have to remake that one.
My sampler garden quilt didn’t get finished in 2024 either. Once I realized that I would have to take one block almost completely apart, I lost interest. I’ll probably try to work on it sometime in 2025 because – really – it’s not that far from finished.
I’m sure I’ll be working on more pillowcases and I’ve been cutting sleeves and cuffs during the holiday season when I didn’t have time to sew so I’d be ready in Jan. One project I’d like to start this year is to make some doll quilts from some of my scraps to donate at Christmastime to some of the places that are looking for toys and gifts.
OH – And I’m planning to reorganize my quilting area. I’ve already made a start by ordering a couple of new bookcases for fabric and going through books and patterns to donate somewhere. Well -- that should keep me busy this year.
