Hello! I'm Emilie, a mid-life veterinary nurse who resides in Michigan with her husband, Rhodesian ridgeback, cat, and mustang pony. I enjoy riding, reading, and a tiny bit of gardening (some years).
Unfortunately for you, most of my reads are non-fiction horse books. I read some others - romance, general non-fiction, children's books - but I think it's about 2/3 horse books. Pretty boring unless you're REALLY into horses. (If you are, please introduce yourself! Much like Joey from Friends when once asked about preferring women on one hand or food on the other, I enthusiastically say "put your hands together!" when it comes to books and horses.) I read a fair amount, around 200 books a year, so at least a few a month are general fiction. I do not go into deep reviews of my reads. Most of the time I have to look up the main characters names when it comes time to record my reads here; I can remember the gestalt only and it feels unfair to write an essay when it went in one eye and out the other.
Now that you are looking for the 'ignore this topic' button (it's off to the upper right), I also enjoy sunshine, butterflies, surfing, the idea of sailing, many colors, goldfish/carp, and staying warm, lest you think I've lost my sense of whimsy in my enthusiasm discussing my hobbies. I sometimes stumble upon entirely new genres so maybe this year I will fall in love with something you also love. Suggestions are deeply appreciated but not always followed up on; I read where the wind takes me. (Hopefully somewhere tropical.)
