Kay Pigeon, a reporter for a Wall Street trade paper, struggles with journalism's transition from print to the internet at a publication on the verge of collapse.

It's 2011 and Kay is making the payments on a student loan she co-signed for he daughter.

Kay is hounded by calls from Doris Morris who works for the loan servicer. In what begins as an ordinary collection call, Doris tips Kay off to skullduggery at the loan servicer--and wants to meet and tell her more.

This book addresses real world issues and attempts to live in the tradition of Upton Sinclair or Sinclair Lewis. It has a sense of humor. There's nothing particularly funny about it.
