A young Basque girl from Spain tries to find herself among the constant changes in her life.

Her parents send her to Wales (UK) to study English at a summer boarding school. There, she learns how to socialise with different people whilst she uncovers a mystery about the school's history.

On returning home, she sees how come and go while she deals with family challenges. Slowly, she starts making poor choices and hanging out with different friends who influence her.

Finally, she takes a gap year to travel to South America to discover her family's secrets. It's a coming of age story. It deals with, evolving friendships, family challenges, history of Wales, Argentina, Peru and the city of Bilbao, and intrigue.

A collection of four separate stories about characters at the crossroads of life. Stories about human struggle and self-determination.

1. The Garden of the Republic: An impulsive New Yorker , who is bored with his life, decides to join an NGO in Tucuman, Argentina. There he meets people who have a tremendous impact on his decisions whilst he learns about the Dirty War that happened during the 1980s.

2. Zabalburu Urkia: An Irishman, with slight disabilities, sees his life pass him by. He decides to take a chance to teach English in a small Basque town Durango. There, his disabilities make it difficult for him and he discovers stories about the lost Basque treasure in the mountains.

3. The Bells of Gloucester: Two young lads, best friends since childhood, slowly drift apart while they take different roads. Their new friends influence their decisions. It's a story of peer pressure and redemption.

4. Celtic Verde: Connor, a selfish Irish American, thinks childhood will last forever. As an adult, he sees how difficult life deals setbacks. He goes to Ireland, thinking he will fit right in and discovers how it has changed. Desperate, he gets tempted to make a wish at an old wishing well. It's an allegory tale about the constant changes in life. The characters represent metaphors- birth, death, selfishness, hope, desire, love, redemption.

Upon returning home, she sees how friends come and go whilst dealing with a family crisis. Slowly, Nora starts making poor decisions with her new friends.

Finally, she decides to take a gap year from university to discover the truth about her father's history. It's a coming of age story.
