“Lilith,” Roman murmured, the name a bitter taste on her tongue. Lilith, the force that had unleashed this darkness upon the world, that had torn families apart and left humanity on its knees. Roman was all that stood between her and complete devastation.

But as she stood on the precipice of another battle, the memories of the people she had loved, and those who had betrayed her, surged forward like ghosts whispering in her ear. Every scar on her heart, every ache she carried, had been carved by faces she once trusted, people who were now echoes in a fractured world.

A voice echoed in her mind, soft but firm, like a call she couldn’t ignore. “You are stronger than you believe, Roman. But strength alone won’t save you.” She closed her eyes, grounding herself, feeling the earth beneath her feet and the energy that pulsed through her veins. Her power was boundless, but it came with a cost. And tonight, she would pay that cost if it meant saving even one life.
