About My Library
Not sure what the books I choose have in common. They all are set in the context of contemporary issues, create an imaginative world which the reader can inhabit and value compassion, as well as many other things, I guess. How will all this look when they lock-down ends and we start to crawl back to normality? Hard to say but I hope there will be at least some books of hope, with happy endings on my shelf! Try Kazuo Ishiguro, Margaret Atwood, Maggie O'Farrell, David Eggers for inspiration. They just write so well - and in very different ways.
About Me
Peter Taylor-Gooby is a sociologist with a strong interest in moral philosophy. He has published widely and made many TV and radio appearances. His novels deal with issues that matter – love, money, power and environmental disaster. He has worked on adventure playgrounds in London, in a social security office, as a newspaper editor in India, as an antique dealer and as a teacher in Newcastle. He loves walking, cycling, writing and talking to his grand-daughter. I hope you enjoy this book.
