Really enjoyed the second reading of this story—audio & eBook. I got a free trial of Audible in order to listen, but hate how Amazon has exclusives of certain authors which makes their works unavailable for free from libraries.

Main character is OCD-coded(a proper way/place for everything) and lives in the sewers collecting lost things, making soap & kissing objects.
She thinks like she has a head injury - using words in uncanny and odd ways.
There is no plot. Just a weird girl living like a lame ninja turtle Tinkerbell.
The authors note says “those who get it, get it, and those who dont, dont”. Put me in the latter bro.

The Name of the Wind (The Kingkiller Chronicle #1)

Rating: 4.5 Stars

Succeeding Book: The Wise Man’s Fear (The Kingkiller Chronicle #2)

Author: Patrick Rothfuss

“Words are pale shadows of forgotten names.
As names have power, words have power. Words can light fires in the minds of men. Words can wring tears from hardest hearts. There are seven words that will make a person love you. There are ten words that will break a strong man’s will. But a word is but a painting of a fire. A name is fire itself.”

Kvothe is a genius. He’s almost great in everything except for girls and for times where his ego is clouding his mind. This book is the first part of the trilogy of how he came to be. A story within a story. Adventure, tragedy, comedy, “magic” and “dragons” this book has it.Most of the story happens when he’s at school too so it has that Harry Potter vibes too, which is a plus for me.Sure, there were some parts that I didn’t enjoy as much but only because they were dwarfed by other chapters! But everything that happens is essential in the moulding of our mysterious protagonist. At the end of the book, you’ll feel that you know him but there’s still so much more!
So if you like the things that I mentioned, go ahead and grab the book and you won’t regret it.

“There are three things all wise men fear: the sea in storm, a night with no moon, and the anger of a gentleman.”

The Wiseman’s fear is the second installment of the Kingkiller chronicles has all the elements that I like and added more details to it. This time, we get to explore other places in the Four Corners of Civilization such as Vintas, The Eld, and Ademre. There’s court politics, hunting bandits, training with assassins or mercenaries, though the right term really is “Cethan”,saving damsels and I almost forgot, “some” frolicking in the Fae Realm. That ‘s right! we get to be in the Fae Realm. As for Kvothe, without giving much away, his skills in naming improves, his relationship with Denna is still a careful flirty dance, and he’s still trying to get information about the Chandrian and the Amyr. Also, clues! You could spin theories and theories from the clues. I don’t know maybe it’s just me, but I’ve my speculations on who’s who, who’s what and what is. In the end, I was eager for the third book. Second books are usually a make or break for me. If I didn’t quite like the first book, in most cases, I still read the second book. Because usually, it’s where I would learn or fall, to like or love a book. And in the instance that I find the first book to my liking, seconds usually expand my feelings for it. But this series is different, I was already fond of it by the first book. Now I enjoyed it even more. I tried to delay the inevitable though, but it eventually came and I finished the book. The Wiseman’s Fear was published in 2011 and the third book, The Door of Stones doesn’t have a publish date yet, so I’m just hanging in there. waiting to learn more of Kvothes adventures and misadventures… (more)
