Lemony Snicket and Kids in Searching for Snicket-like Things (February 2019)

Reviews

I really loved this one! Ever since The Vile Village, the next book becomes my favorite. This time, this is the one. The themes explored in this book are super important and approachable to children, from tolerance, disability and acceptance to animal cruelty.

The previous book, The Hostile Hospital, is gloomier than this one, but The Carnivorous Carnival is when the kids really outsmart Count Olaf (for most of the book, at least).

The children are growing up, the themes are maturing just enough, and the main story is finally happening.… (more)

I've been meaning to read this series for ages and am happy that I finally started. As the first book and having the job of having to introduce all the characters and the circumstances and such, I think it's pretty good. It's entertaining and I did enjoy it. I look forward to reading the rest of the books in the series. I would recommend this book, absolutely. 4.5 out of 5 stars.

I'm reading all of TUE for the first time and I have to say I am really enjoying them. At first I wasn't so sure, but they're quick, easy reads and they're entertaining. They aren't happy by any means, just like the description says, but I can see how this series has become something of a children's classic. I can't wait to get onto book three. 5 out of 5 stars. I would recommend this book.
